A mousse is a dessert that is perfect for any occasion. Even an uneventful day can be turned into an occasion by the rich and creamy texture of a chocolate mousse, – an indulgent pleasure indeed. Serve it to your guests after dinner and compliments will just come pouring in. Though chocolate mousse is the most common forms of mousse, other flavors like mango, white chocolate or strawberry are also equally delicious. Try these to get a more colorful dessert plate.
There are very few people who can resist the charm of chocolate and when it comes in the form of a sinfully smooth and creamy chocolate mousse, it just gets better. Very easy and quick to make, chocolate mousse is really a no fuss dessert. You can make it hours before dinner as it keeps well in the refrigerator. Enjoy its decadence as you take a bite off its chocolaty goodness.
Serving Size – Serves Four
Estimated Preparation Time – 10 Minutes
Estimated Cooking Time – 20 Minutes
Dark chocolate(40-50% chocolate works best )- 200gm or 1cup
Eggs Separated – 2
Butter – 2 Tbsp
Whipped Cream – 1/2Cup
Coffee – 2Tbsp
Sugar – 2Tbsp

Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler. Make sure the water is simmering and not boiling so that the chocolate wont burn.
Keep aside the melted chocolate and butter to cool down.
Meanwhile whip egg whites in a bowl till it becomes frothy, add sugar to it and beat further till soft peaks are formed.
When the chocolate comes down to room temperature. Add the two egg yolks. Mix well.
Add coffee and whipped cream to the chocolate, mix till the cream is well incorporated into the chocolate.
Now gently fold in the egg whites into the chocolate till every things is combined properly.
Pour the mousse in desired glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least half an hour, for it to set.

Enjoy chocolate mousse on its own or with fresh strawberries or cherries.
